East meets West: Art and Design Now

Mokspace is staging its latest group show in co-operation with ArtsThread, the leading creative network for new talent.
A global platform, ArtsThread - like Mokspace - promotes and supports young art and design professionals. ArtsThread provides an online community connecting students, graduates, universities and the professional art and design world - an ideal partner for Mokspace, a gallery which focuses on work from Asia Pacific, widely regarded as the worlds most dynamic and influential region.
East meets West: Art and Design Now, exhibits the work of 20 young artists and designers from Korea, Taiwan, China, Japan, Hong Kong and Macau – many currently working in London. The show reveals the stimulating variety of creative energy emanating from these countries, and which is increasingly impacting on the capitals – and indeed – the worlds, art scene.
East meets West embraces these functions, showing work which fascinates and stimulates with new concepts and techniques which truly embody Art and Design Now!

Fashion Networking works at Mokspace
During the recent London Fashion Week, international fashion, lifestyle and culture trend forecasting company, Mudpie, chose Mokspace for their networking party. Over 50 top designers, stylists and retail executives, converged on the gallery - ideally situated opposite the British Museum - to exchange information and gossip against a background of the work of revered Korean photographer Kang Bong Kyu - currently enjoying a solo exhibition at Mokspace.
The opportunity was not lost on the producers of Saint, who launched their new premium organic larger to this gathering of stylish opinion formers. Wine lovers were treated to a suitably elegant British white from Wickham Vineyards; it was not a time for anything French!

East Meets West at Mokspace
In April and May Mokspace, which focuses on work from designers and artists from Korea, China, Taiwan and Japan,
is collaborating with the web based ARTS THREAD to curate a group show of young artists and designers from Asia Pacific who study, live and work in the UK.
ARTSTHREAD.COM is a site which offers a service to those involved in the study of creative arts in a variety of ways, and is the worlds only creative graduate website with a commitment to be a platform to showcase, internationally, the best work from students and graduates of art and design.
East Meets West: Art & Design Now! will run from April 24 to May 06 2012 and will exhibit the art and talents of over 20 carefully selected graduates, and will include product design, painting, sculpture, prints, jewellery, ceramics, glass and textile art.
The show is a SELLING show - giving young creatives an opportunity to sell their work in a great position, in an established creative area of central London.
If you are interested in taking part, email our curator Na Yeon Kim at info@mokspace.com, but be quick, selection takes place soon after March 10th.
